TACA AIRLINES
After the merger of the Central American carriers Aviateca (Guatemala) LACSA (Costa Rica), NICA (Nicaragua), TACA International (El Salvador) in the early nineties and the creation of TACA Peru in 1999, the consortium then known as GRUPO TACA became the first global carrier in Latin America. Today TACA Airlines is not only the fourth biggest airline in the region, but the one that sports the newest fleet comprised of all state-of-the-art European Airbuses A-320s and A-319s offering passengers the highest level of comfort and safety.
TACA Airlines operates from ten U.S. gateways (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, New Orleans, Miami, Washington, New York, Chicago and Boston) to Central and South America through three main connection hubs: El Salvador International Airport, San Joses Juan Santamaria International Airport and Lima Jorge Chaves International Airport.
Incredible destinations like ecological paradises in Costa Rica and Belize, diving meccas like Roatan Island, cultural worlds like Guatemala, Honduras and Peru are just a flight away on TACA Airlines jets.
All the TACA airplanes are registered in the United States keeping up to par with safety regulations dictated by the FAA. TACA Airlines owns the most modern maintenance facility in Central America, AEROMAN that has been chosen by U.S. and European carriers.
The airline has also accomplished the best On-Time Performance of a Latin air carrier and obtained awards for service and safety.
TACA Airlines operates flights from the El Salvador hub to Belize City, Guatemala City, San Pedro-Sula, La Ceiba, Tegucigalpa, Roatan, Managua and San Jose. From the San Jose hub TACA offers connections to Panama City, Bogota, Caracas, Quito, Guayquil and Lima. For the Lima hub the airline operates flights to Mexico, Caracas, Bogota, Cuzco, La Paz, Santa Cruz, Quito, Guayaquil, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo.
